About the Group

 

Where it all began

The Robert Lewis Accountants Group started as just Robert Lewis Head Trading As Robert Lewis Accountants. The practice was formed in 2006 as an ofshoot from a larger practice, with the backing of the IFA (Institute of Financial Accountants) and ICPA (Institute of Certified Practicing Accountants).

Robert Lewis Accountants shared premises and traded alongside BMR Accountancy, another small accountancy practice based in Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex.

Building for the future

It quickly became apparent that Robert Lewis Accountants would become a success and Rob decided to register a Limted Company and to recruit the assistance of Daniel Scott, a former workmate.

As Robert Lewis Accountants Limited Continued to grow, the new clients began to flock in, and Rob decided to acquire his own premises, seperate from those of BMR Accountancy. After a brief search of the area a small shopfront was found in Laindon Essex, which turned out to be a prime location for attracting new clients.

As well as the grand opening of the new office, April 2007 saw the acquisition of associate company Elliott James Accountancy and welcomed former Elliott James owner, Elliott Bristow, to the Robert Lewis family.

With the practice growing faster than ever expected, November 2007 saw the transfer of all operations to a new, larger office in Laindon. This new office was large enough to house all the Robert Lewis companies and the newly acquired BMR Accountancy, as well as an increased number of staff, including our in-house financial advisor.

The Robert Lewis Accountants Group now consists of seven companies, including:

  • B&R Accountants, formerly BMR Accountancy Services Limited, acquired in 2008
  • Robert Lewis Tax Assist Limited, the specialised Tax Enquiry Service, also launched in 2008
  • Swish Storage, the new digital document archive to store old accountancy records

To Infinity... and beyond

The plan for the future is to build upon our success and expand our coverage and range of services, whilst maintaining the personalised, professional service that we offer at present.
